Having invested in the family business since 1983, TEMPE Clément represents the seventh generation of winegrowers in the family. Following the retirement of his parents André and Marthe, Clément took over the estate in 1990 with his wife Fabienne. Their passion for vines and wine led them to develop the vineyard, extend the buildings, create a visitor cellar and modernise winemaking techniques with a view to improving the quality of the wine.
In 2013, Mathieu joined the estate, bringing a more modern vision to the business and contributing to its development.
Father and son now work together on the estate, combining progressive methods with respect for the environment and the terroir to guarantee the authenticity of each wine.
The estate is located in a privileged location in the hamlet of Meywihr. It was once a village that was destroyed following the English invasion in the 14th century. However, the remains of the chapel were spared and now house the smallest Clos in Alsace, called ‘Clos du Meywihr’, which we cultivate with care.
